Although she has dabbled in art ever since she can remember, it wasn't until Lynn minored in art at Oregon State University that she began her passion for drawing, painting and creating anything she could. After graduating from OSU, she became an elementary school teacher, married her soulmate (Gary), and eventually had two sons, Jeff & Scott. She continued to take art classes when she could find the time.
Lynn's long time friend, Ernie Welke (art teacher and accomplished artist), spent several years trying to convince her to go back to her art. Then in January 2001, wanting to do something special for Gary's birthday, Ernie suggested she draw a picture of Heceta Head Lighthouse in Florence, Oregon. He introduced her to Prisma Colored Pencils and through his constant prodding, encouragement and expertise, Lynn finished her first colored pencil drawing. Gary loved it! Realizing her talent, Gary & Ernie began pushing Lynn to draw more. Through their love for lighthouses (they've visited over 239, so far) she began her series of lighthouses. With constant encouragement to expand her subject matter to stretch her abilities, Lynn has added many more subjects, including children which has become her favorite. Using her realistic style, depicting her passion for detail, Lynn continues to draw new subjects as often as she can. As you view her drawings, it is her heartfelt desire you see the wonder of God's creation. In HIS honor, she has hidden a cross in each of her drawings. Enjoy! |

Nice to see such a passion from an OSU Beaver. The web site is also very well done.

Hi Lynn - Your drawings are absolutely beautiful. Your book looks so wonderful, and I can't wait to read it and enjoy the beautiful drawings. I hope you don't mind my using this venue to ask for your prayers (and those who may read this) for our daughter-in-law, Leanna, who was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer a year and a half ago. She is battling a recurrence and her 2nd round of chemo. She is only 34, and the best wife to our son, Noal, and mother to our grandchildren, Noah & Sienna. Much Love and Blessings to you, Gary, Scott & Jeff and the grandkids.
